Comparing and Contrasting Communications and Writing
in Ancient Egypt and in Modern Day
If we didn't have writing we couldn't record anything, we would have to solely rely on our memory to remember everything some one told us. Egyptians writings holds the 'key' to understanding the Egyptian civilisation and the structure they lived in. It gives modern day people a clear idea what life was like before them and proved the possibility of survival in those days. The writings also contain artefacts which have treasure thousands of years later.
Differences in Modern Day
In communications and writings the main difference is that now days, due to the advance in technology, we are no longer so reliant on writing. Everything is mostly done on a laptop, phone or another form of device. We can write, gather information and present all on a device in most areas on the planet. We still continue to communicate through writing using pens and paper instead of reed pens and papyrus but this practise is learnt and mainly used in schools. Paper is made from trees and came up with a more practical way of using ink in pens. Instead of constantly having to dip the pens in ink, it is now sorted inside the pen itself making it much easier. The main difference is that in modern day we have so many more forms of communication than just writing. Some forms include calling, music, news and radio. This is a change from when it was the only mode of recording things in Ancient Egypt. Writing is still used in different ways through texting and emailing. Most people now can read or write having the exception of people who don't the resources and knowledge to. Unlike the scribes in Ancient Egypt who on the top of the social pyramid, people now days who don't read or write are often unemployed or working minimal wage as they are at a huge disadvantage when finding a job. This then means they don't have enough money for themselves. Those people can also be looked down upon and be deemed as unintelligent.
Similarities between Ancient Egypt and Modern DayThe fact that the Ancient Egyptians used to record everything is a similarity as we do they same today. For example we record about laws, facts, events, knowledge, medicine and much more. The Ancient Egyptians influenced us to write down things just like they did thousands of years ago. The value of communications and writing has not changed over the years and is as helpful as ever.

Differences in Ancient EgyptThe Ancient Egyptians used reed pens and papyrus sheets to write on this. These tools were a step up from just writing on clay tablets, walls in tombs and on the ground. Due to leaving burying practises behind us, now days we don't use many caves to write on. Also we have other resources which would be much easier to access. They would write letters to close by towns to communicate with them though this wasn't done often. People in Ancient Egypt also relied on writing, other than talking with each other, as the main methods of communication.
