Communication and Writing
Communications and writings was extensively used in Ancient Egypt. They thought it was important to write down information. This could be about a wide variety of things like religion, gods, kings, medicine, etc. So they invented a way of writing for themselves. It is not know exactly how it was developed or whether they learnt it from another civilisation but they did a really good job at using it. Writing was their main way of communication. Another form of communication was they naturally talked to each other. From this they could find out about the day's events among other things. They would also talk with their gods, asking for help with their problems and to pray and thank them. The Ancient Egyptians also communicated through plays and the theatre expressing their feelings to the viewers, by acting out their thoughts. Art was a big part of the Ancient Egyptians life. Basic forms of art mainly included drawings of their view of the world and their prediction of what would happen in the future. More advanced art would be paintings and sculptures displaying heroic deeds, gods and pharaohs. A more subtle way of communicating was when people wore expensive clothing, beautiful jewellery and had bigger, fully furnished homes. This represented the person's rank and sometimes even their specialised job.
