Ancient Egypt
Ancient Egypt is one of the oldest civilistions which evolved around 5000BC. At 3500BC the many different settlements spilted through war and competition to become 2 main kingdoms- Upper and Lower Egypt. It was one of the longest lasting civilisations which achieved a lot in it’s time, eventually shaping our modern day world. This was done in the most unfavourable environment, the large, mostly barren land of North-East Africa. Some of their achievements were for architecture, government and construction. This made them the ancient world's most advanced civilisation. Modern day Egypt is located in in the same place but doesn’t stretch as far down as Ancient Egypt did.

The NileThe river Nile is the longest river in the world stretching at around 6,400 kilometres long. It flows north from central Africa throught Egypt to the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile was the Egyptians source of life. It flooded despositing rich mud, silt, along its banks which created a fertile farmland for crops to grow. They used the water to drink and the river to transport goods, armies and people to other cities which lived further down the river Nile. Due to little to no rain, practically all the water came from the river. Green areas on either bank was where the Stone Age settlers came and set up their farming communities.
